Sold by weight. Horsetail (Equisetum arvense)is the last remaining descendant of the giant ferns that covered the earth over 400 million years ago. The plant has an unusual root, shoot and stem system that enables it to absorb and store silicon and other minerals. A typical Horsetail plant can contain up to 15 percent vegetal silica. This bio-available silica, when applied topically, can greatly aid in the healing of wounds and burns and has a softening and smoothing effect on the skin.
Mineral-rich Horsetail contains the building blocks needed for collagen and elastin synthesis and the silicon present will link any collagen produced, thus greatly enhancing the rebuilding of connective tissues in the epidermis. Horsetail also contains flavonoids and saponins which help rebuild and regenerate skin cells.
Horsetail butter was developed for cosmetic use. It is actually an extract of Equisetum arvense using a proprietary butter base which produces a smooth, velvety butter at room temperature. Horsetail Butter may be used for cutaneous dryness to assist in moisturization after exposure to sun and other harsh elements. It is completely oil miscible and contains no preservatives or coloring agents. Completely natural! Suggested uses: Creams, lotions, body and lip balms, bar soaps. Use from 3% to 100%.
Appearance: Soft, semi-solid fat. Its color could range from ivory to light green to a slightly darker green. Odor: Herbal, grass like. As with all natural products, there cannot be any consistency regarding odor, consistency and color. SAP value: 175-200. Shelf life: 1 yr. when tightly sealed and kept in a cool place away from direct light and heat. INCI = Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Almond) Oil, Equisetum arvense extract (and) hydrogenated non-gmo soybean oil.

I wasn't sure about this one, so I ordered a sample first--it worked well all by itself as a healing lip balm and it seemed to have very nice properties to use in a face cream so I ordered a pound of it and got started. I've made a luxurious face cream with this butter in place of shea. It's just lovely. I use this butter by itself as an eyelid moisturizer at night. It's not too heavy (although probably is for daytime use and definitely would make your makeup run if you had it on under/before mascara). It's a rich, soothing, healing butter. This one is a keeper.

This was my first time ever ordering horsetail butter, and I'm hooked. It's smooth, creamy, and feels moisturizing! I've used it in hair moisturizer, body butter, and plan to use it in a new lip balm recipe. I only bought 4 oz to try but now I wish had bought more.

This butter goes a long way & glides onto the skin. I purchased it as it is supposed to help with edema. Not only did it help with this, it helped my parents neuropathy pain when they put it on their feet before bed time. Amazing stuff!

This butter is so soft and has a very distinct smell. It mixes very nice with coconut oil and was very moisturizing for my hair!

My grandson gets dried, cracked knuckles in the winter months and we've tried several remedies with so-so results. We put horsetail butter on one of his hands and another butter on the other. We love the results of the use of the horsetail butter. I will purchase it again!

I have a 17 year old son who hates anything that smells "pretty" and keeps his skin "oily". Well after noticing his hands and feet had started to get pretty rough during football season I began using this (got it on sale). So far it's going great! He loves the scent, there is barely one present and I apply it before he goes to bed and when he wakes up his rough hands and feet are smooth and soft! This is a keeper!!!

I originally bought the Horsetail Butter for a mix for my hair but, after re-reading the info on the site I decided to test it on a few spots on my leg where I have gotten some spider veins. I only used it on one leg--sort of like a "control group: to see if the veins in that leg did better than the one without the butter application. I must say that after a week plus that the leg I am using the butter on seems to be responding with the veins beginning slightly to recede! I plan on continuing use until they are-hopefully- gone. The butter itself is light and creamy----wonderful texture, and, the scent is extremely light and not at all intrusive so that I can add it to other mixes without it overpowering any scent I might add. It mixes quite well with oil and also the honey that I use to cleanse my face. A keeper!!!

I ordered this when I saw that it was good for the skin and for wounds. I have a wound that is slow (ha! never) healing and I wanted to try it. It immediately made a difference~it penetrated and moistened the skin better, but when I added a bit of Manuka and Tamanu, WOW! It's not gone, but the improvement is huge and now my Doctor thinks I'm cheating on him with another Doctor!
I will never be without my Horsetail Butter again!

This butter is "The Best", it's nourishing, moisturizing, inexpensive and most importantly, EFFECTIVE!!! It's the most precious butter within my butter stash, so, I use/treat it sparingly as a precious jewel, a little goes a long way nonetheless though. I don't share this butter with anyone and will always make sure to have some; I implore of you please to continue to carry this item, I adore it immensely!!!

BULK ITEMS: When a customer adds a bulk item to the cart, the customer’s immediately shown on the screen how many number of days should be allowed for the bulk product to arrive at our location with the minimum being 12 business days counting from the business day after the customer placed the order on our site.

HOW PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED...
BOTTLING/PACKAGING:
Essential oils: Are sold only in the quantities/net weights listed on our website. These oils are shipped to us by the distiller or manufacturer in industry-standard metal or plastic containers and that’s how we ship them to you.
Carrier oils and most other liquids are dispensed in individual HDPE plastic pails or containers with some type of handle, each container holds the purchased net weight of liquid.
Soft butters such as Horsetail and Almond are dispensed in plastic HDPE pails w/metal handles; those butters may remain inside the pails indefinitely when properly stored. Hard butters such as Cocoa are dispensed factory-wrapped in plastic and placed inside a box. Castile Gel is dispensed in a self-contained cubitainer with pouring spout.
NOTE: While the packaging methods mentioned above are generalized, we reserve the right to dispense and ship in any available container. If a customer at any time feels more comfortable transferring an essential or carrier oil to glass, this should be done.
Raw materials/ingredients are sold and dispensed by weight. Many customers ask how many ounces are in a pound, there are 16 ounces in one pound. These are not fluid ounces, they are ounces by weight.
HOW TO STORE: EOs, FOs and BUTTERS should be stored in tightly-sealed containers away from direct light and heat. Some EOs and FOs could be highly flammable, keep away from open flames and from varnished or wood surfaces. Keep all liquids and powders you purchase from Camden-Grey tightly capped and away from the reach of children, the elderly or infirm and pets.
