    Method of Extraction: Cold pressed

Bergamot (bergaptene free) essential oil . Its aroma is uplifting, spicy, sweet scent; like orange and lemons with floral overtones......citrus spice with a high floral note. Inhaled, it relaxes the nervous system and acts as a digestive. Also used as an expectorant, gargle for a sore throat, inhaled for anxiety and depression, used for a variety of skin problems. It may be used as an inhalation for respiratory tract infections such as tonsilitis and bronchitis. It is a valuable antiseptic for the urinary tract and infections and inflammation such as cystitis.

Combined with tea tree it is used as a treatment for cold sores, chicken pox and shingles. Used in douches and sitz baths, bergamot oil has proved successful in gonococcal infections, leucorrhoea, vaginal prurities and urinary infections; add no more than 2-3 drops to some warm water. Its antiseptic properties make it ideal for treating wounds, herpes, acne and oily skin conditions. Bergamot imparts that unusual flavor to Earl Grey tea. It was and still is an important ingredient in the classic Eau de Cologne formula. Blends well with chamomile, lavender, neroli and rosemary.

Bergaptene-free Bergamot has had the chemical bergaptene removed which greatly reduces the risk of photosensitization when skin is exposed to the sun after use, but doesn't eliminate the issue 100%, use with caution when sun exposure is involved. This oil may be used in end products that will be used directly on the skin and which will remain on the skin for a long period of time. Flash point: 136F. I just bought bergamot for the first time and I absolutely love it. I have a lot of different essential oils, but this is the only one that I have wanted to use alone as a perfume. It has the perfect balance of mostly citrus with a little floral. I also mixed it with lavender and orange for a very nice blend.

This essential oil works great for me. I have ordered several times. I love the clean scent. This works great in my soaps, bath bombs, as well as other preparations.

This Bergamot EO has just the right blend of citrus and floral notes to make it indispensable in a citrus blend. I will definitely buy this one again.
    Still bergamot!

I was initially worried being bergaptene free that there would be a difference in smell (because I love bergamot!) There is no difference! Very pleasing scent and I don't have to worry about phototoxicity!!!

I bought this oil in the 1 oz size just 6 months ago, but I've only use 75% of it because it has so many uses for me. I've used it to treat sore throats, respiratory infections, cold sores, and as part of a facial cleanser for my oily and acne prone skin. I will definitely reorder this when I run out!
FABULOUS PRODUCT AT A FANTASTIC PRICE

I love this bergamot and one does not normally find non-sensitizing bergamot at such a low price. Perfect for the spring and summer perfume blends, when we don't want to be wearing photo-toxic oils on our skin!
    Sweet aroma

It may have lost some of its subtlety or some of the crispness of the scent along with the phototoxic components - as this has somewhat less complexity than I have experienced in ordinary bergamot oil. However, it retains a versatile and pleasant fragrance, the subtler 'heart' aspects of of citrus with somewhat less 'head'.

    HOW PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED...

    BOTTLING/PACKAGING:

Essential oils: Are sold only in the quantities/net weights listed on our website. These oils are shipped to us by the distiller or manufacturer in industry-standard metal or plastic containers and that’s how we ship them to you.

Carrier oils and most other liquids are dispensed in individual HDPE plastic pails or containers with some type of handle, each container holds the purchased net weight of liquid.

Soft butters such as Horsetail and Almond are dispensed in plastic HDPE pails w/metal handles; those butters may remain inside the pails indefinitely when properly stored. Hard butters such as Cocoa are dispensed factory-wrapped in plastic and placed inside a box. Castile Gel is dispensed in a self-contained cubitainer with pouring spout.

NOTE: While the packaging methods mentioned above are generalized, we reserve the right to dispense and ship in any available container. If a customer at any time feels more comfortable transferring an essential or carrier oil to glass, this should be done.

Raw materials/ingredients are sold and dispensed by weight. Many customers ask how many ounces are in a pound, there are 16 ounces in one pound. These are not fluid ounces, they are ounces by weight.

HOW TO STORE: EOs, FOs and BUTTERS should be stored in tightly-sealed containers away from direct light and heat. Some EOs and FOs could be highly flammable, keep away from open flames and from varnished or wood surfaces. Keep all liquids and powders you purchase from Camden-Grey tightly capped and away from the reach of children, the elderly or infirm and pets. Refrigerating butters could adversely affect the consistency of a butter, please join our Forum if you need to learn how to handle, work with and store products.
