    Botanical Name: Eugenia caryophyllata

    Plant Part: Bud

    Country of Origin: Indonesia

    Method of Extraction: Steam Distillation

Clove bud oil has a sweet, rich, warm, spicy and penetrating aroma with a fruity top note and a woody base note. Highly irritant to the skin (must be diluted), clove bud oil is safer to use than clove leaf due to its lower eugenol content. It should never be used directly on the skin or in large concentrations. Clove oil lifts depression and is recommended as an inhalation when feeling weak and lethargic.

It's excellent as an antiseptic because of the content of eugenol. It helps stimulate digestion, restores appetite and relieves flatulence. The dental value of cloves is well know, the oil has been traditionally used to relieve toothaches. Clove oil is not used in skin care except to treat infectious wounds, skin sores and leg ulcers and only by those who are experienced and know what they’re doing.

This oils is beneficial to the digestive system, effective against diarrhea, vomiting and spasms when applied externally in massage form. Can help toothache, rheumatism, arthritis and mouth sores. Blends well with basil, cinnamon, citronella, orange and peppermint. Flash point: 200 F. 85 % Eugenol content.

    STRONG STUFF
    ★★★★★ ★★★★★

This is a strong scent. As other reviews have pointed out, it does smell like a true spice. I have not figured out how to use this yet. I would not use it alone, and I don't think I have anything that blends well with it. I imagine it should be used a little sparingly.
    Really comforting.

This oil is rather strong. A little bit medicinal at first, but after you get a warm syrupy vibe that is mouth-watering. I get a sensation of roundness accompanied with little stings of sweet spices. I can’t help but think of those little red fish-shaped candies my grand-father gave me when I was younger. It is really comforting.

Very true scent – smells like a concentrated version of cloves you get from the spice shop. Great for warm, cozy blends, and manly products. One of my favorites.

Absolutely one of my favorites. Blends so beautifully with orange, makes a wonderful aroma in the diffuser. Smells like Christmas to me. Any day can feel like a holiday! I love adding just a bit of clove to most of my massage oil blends, brings a nice, warm feel and smell. Will not be without this one.
Great Oil for Cold Process Soap
    ★★★★★ ★★★★★

As other reviewers have mentioned, this oil smells great and as you would expect much like the gum they used to make. Yum. One word of warning to those making cold process soap, and I believe this is true with all quality clove oils. This oil seems to have an extremely quick tracing and curing property. I always make my spice/clove soap after letting the lye cool to room temperature as I've lost a few batches to it's immediate trace and harden in the pot before I could get it to a mold. It's quite a site to see but who wants a 2lb pot shaped bar of soap! My spice soap is an often requested one, so it's worth the hassle; just a little care must be taken in the process.
    Can't live without this one!

I have several clients I've gotten hooked on CG's Clove Bud Oil! This smells exactly as you would expect Clove to smell and is wonderful for perfumery, and for medicinal treatment. This oil is amazing for it's calming properties especially. I highly recommend it for any application that you can think of. I enjoy placing a small amount of it on a cotton pad and attaching it to the vent of my A/C intake in my home. It provides a beautiful scent throughout the house and everyone becomes relaxed and happy when there is tension :o) Perfect!
    I love this stuff!

This is one of my favorite essential oils. I go through quite a lot of it. It's an amazing spicy scent that blends great with pumpkin, apple, citrus, and many other scents. I use it in several of my perfumes. It really adds lasting power to them and it doesn't take much so the bottle lasts very nicely. Love it!
    Wonderfully warm and spicy

This is about as perfect essence of cloves as you can get. It's warm, it's spicy, it's slightly sweet, and it's AMAZINGLY delicious combined with sweet orange oil. I love using it for cleaning, especially in autumn and winter. I also put it in my homemade toothpaste for something different from the usual peppermint.

This is a very sharp smell, but so are cloves. This is a great EO to blend during Christmas. If you remember the old school Clove gum from the 50's; this is very similar.

    HOW PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED...

    BOTTLING/PACKAGING:

Essential oils: Are sold only in the quantities/net weights listed on our website. These oils are shipped to us by the distiller or manufacturer in industry-standard metal or plastic containers and that’s how we ship them to you.

Carrier oils and most other liquids are dispensed in individual HDPE plastic pails or containers with some type of handle, each container holds the purchased net weight of liquid.

Soft butters such as Horsetail and Almond are dispensed in plastic HDPE pails w/metal handles; those butters may remain inside the pails indefinitely when properly stored. Hard butters such as Cocoa are dispensed factory-wrapped in plastic and placed inside a box. Castile Gel is dispensed in a self-contained cubitainer with pouring spout.

NOTE: While the packaging methods mentioned above are generalized, we reserve the right to dispense and ship in any available container. If a customer at any time feels more comfortable transferring an essential or carrier oil to glass, this should be done.

Raw materials/ingredients are sold and dispensed by weight. Many customers ask how many ounces are in a pound, there are 16 ounces in one pound. These are not fluid ounces, they are ounces by weight.

HOW TO STORE: EOs, FOs and BUTTERS should be stored in tightly-sealed containers away from direct light and heat. Some EOs and FOs could be highly flammable, keep away from open flames and from varnished or wood surfaces. Keep all liquids and powders you purchase from Camden-Grey tightly capped and away from the reach of children, the elderly or infirm and pets. Refrigerating butters could adversely affect the consistency of a butter, please join our Forum if you need to learn how to handle, work with and store products.
