    Botanical Name: Matricaria Chamomile

    Plant Part: Flower

    Country of Origin: Egypt

    Method of Extraction: Steam Distillation

Also known as Hungarian, Blue Camomile and Matricaria recutita/chamomile. The aroma of this oil is strong, sweet, warm, fatty, fruity and herbaceous. Its color is deep blue with major components of chamazulene (gives the oil its deep blue color), farnesene and bisabolol. The chamazulene content gives German chamomile its most important actions such as soothing, calming and anti-inflammatory.

Among its properties are anti-inflammatory, hormonal and antispasmodic. This oil is indicated for all kinds of skin diseases (eczema, psoriasis, itchy/dry/flaky skin), stomach distress and menstrual problems and can be used in hot compresses on boils, abscesses and splinters. It can also be used in massage for muscular pain and for arthritic inflamed joints. This oil’s also useful for treating sprains, inflamed tendons and swollen painful joints in bursitis.

It is a good remedy for urinary stones when externally massaged over the kidneys. Menstrual pain and menopausal problems can be relieved by the use of compresses, massage and baths into which this oil is incorporated. The action of chamomile as a vasoconstrictor can help reduce the redness of the cheeks due to enlarged capillaries, use well diluted. Blends well with bergamot, clary sage, lavender, neroli, sandalwood and ylang ylang.Flash point: 125 F. (Cannot ship via air or ocean, UN#1993, Group III, Flammable Liquid)

I bought roman chamomile from another supplier not too long ago and i loved it, but it was fruity smelling. This is like sweet hay its really lovely it smells like chamomile tea. And I bet one drop will go a very long way too! LOVE the blue color! Next time I will buy a bigger bottle. Great price too other places want a fortune for blue chamomile and the reviews for it are not pleasant.
    I like it

This is a perfectly prepared EO of chamomile - the chamazulene content of this oil creates an absolute dark blue. The odor is dramatically calming. Very soothing on the skin in prepared EO blends. I HIGHLY recommend this chamomile.

This little gem is my secret ingredient in all of my powerful healing balms. My customers have sworn it's magical. From bad sunburns treated with a few drops of this in some almond oil, to scalding burns where I apply this straight, its healing properties are not exaggerated. I use it in healing ointment for psoriasis and other skin ailments and baby rash balm. It's scent can be strong to some, but it reminds most people of apple blossoms. There has been a rare person who does not like the way it smells.

I was shocked how much I loved this scent. At a local health food store I smelled Chamomile Roman and didn't really care for it...however I asked for the sample of Chamomile German out of curiosity and was shocked it is NOTHING like RC. It's exactly how I expected it to smell. Love the scent and I love the blue color!!!!!

When I opened the bottle, the scent struck me as... concentrated, I wasn't initially happy... So I put a single drop from the pipette onto my hand and rubbed it around. The large room where I keep my oils is filled with the beautiful, flowery scent of chamomile just from that single drop.
    Powerful German Chamomile!

I only bought a small amount of this oil & have been past due on needing to order more! It is very potent & works beautifully in the reduction of inflamation & in repairing the skin. A little bit does go a very long way! It is very herbaceous in scent, but blends beautifully with other oils! I also love its blue hue :0) Very soothing to use & look at :0) A winner for sure!
    Always wanted to try!

Glad I did! I mainly used this for my face lotion and can tell a difference. Great addition with the other oils. Don't need a lot little goes a long way. Trust I had to learn lol. The smell can get strong! Will always be in my collection though! Now I have to try the Roman. Look forward to using this in a lot more things though! Thank you Camden Grey!
    Will buy this product again.

I hesitated to purchase German Chamomile in the past because of the high cost. After searching other sites and finding that yours was the most reasonable price I decided to give it a try. I was amazed at how wonderful it looks, smells & especially works! I am now telling the ladies at work that Camden-Grey is a great place to purchase their essential & carrier oils. Thank you.
    Beautiful oil

The German essential oil is a beautiful blue oil--and smells much, much better than the Roman chamomile. Its scent mixes better with other oils also. Where the Roman Chamomile stands out (as a scent you definitely need less of it) the German Chamomile is more subtle. Since I use the Chamomile in a face cream (for its anti-inflammatory properties) I definitely prefer the German Chamomile. It also imparts a wonderful blue color to a basic white face cream.

    HOW PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED...

    BOTTLING/PACKAGING:

Essential oils: Are sold only in the quantities/net weights listed on our website. These oils are shipped to us by the distiller or manufacturer in industry-standard metal or plastic containers and that’s how we ship them to you.

Carrier oils and most other liquids are dispensed in individual HDPE plastic pails or containers with some type of handle, each container holds the purchased net weight of liquid.

Soft butters such as Horsetail and Almond are dispensed in plastic HDPE pails w/metal handles; those butters may remain inside the pails indefinitely when properly stored. Hard butters such as Cocoa are dispensed factory-wrapped in plastic and placed inside a box. Castile Gel is dispensed in a self-contained cubitainer with pouring spout.

NOTE: While the packaging methods mentioned above are generalized, we reserve the right to dispense and ship in any available container. If a customer at any time feels more comfortable transferring an essential or carrier oil to glass, this should be done.

Raw materials/ingredients are sold and dispensed by weight. Many customers ask how many ounces are in a pound, there are 16 ounces in one pound. These are not fluid ounces, they are ounces by weight.

HOW TO STORE: EOs, FOs and BUTTERS should be stored in tightly-sealed containers away from direct light and heat. Some EOs and FOs could be highly flammable, keep away from open flames and from varnished or wood surfaces. Keep all liquids and powders you purchase from Camden-Grey tightly capped and away from the reach of children, the elderly or infirm and pets. Refrigerating butters could adversely affect the consistency of a butter, please join our Forum if you need to learn how to handle, work with and store products.
