Evening Primrose oil, cold pressed, refined, Oenothera biennis a/k/a King’s Cureall.  Like borage oil, evening primrose oil is highly unsaturated and is, therefore, more reactive and less stable than most other oils.  It is yellow in color and oxidizes on exposure to air and light.

GLA is very fragile and can be rapidly destroyed by light, heat, humidity and oxygen in the air.  It’s useful for the following external uses: dry scal skin, dandruff conditions, has benefited those with psoriasis, is helpful for eczema, it’s known to accelerate wound healing.  (Source: Carrier Oils For Aromatherapy & Massage by Len Price)

Evening Primrose can be used in antiwrinkle preparations at levels of around 20%.  Highly recommended for mature, damaged or sensitive skin.  Conditions dry, damaged hair and scalp. It’s a very soothing oil.

In soapmaking, a little goes a long way; add 1-2/3 tablespoons per 5 lbs. of soap just before adding the essential oils. In lotions/creams use 2%-5%.

INCI: Oenothera biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil.  SAP value: 180-195.  Typical shelf life when stored tightly capped and away from heat and direct light; refrigeration is OK for this oil: 1 year.

What a great ingredient to use as an eye serum!! This primrose oil is packed with anti-aging properties. Add a few drops of primrose oil to an ounce of grape seed oil and gently pat into the skin under your eyes. This will diminish those unsightly circles, tricking your boss into thinking you went to bed promptly at 9pm.

Its about time to reorder supplies and E. Primrose is one I will not be without. So moisturizing and soothing to the skin. Added to formulas for the elderly, they rant and rave about products they try with this oil in it. Use it while you are young, and I'll bet wrinkles will stay away!

Evening primrose oil and macadamia oil and butters from camden-grey make a great body butter that's not too greasy.

I love Evening Primrose Oil - and Camden Grey's does not disappoint! It's a beautiful golden color and has just a very faint aroma. It immediately absorbs into the skin without even the slightest greasy feel. I use it in everything from premium lotions & facial serums to shampoo & facial soap bars - I just love it!

    HOW PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED...

    BOTTLING/PACKAGING:

Essential oils: Are sold only in the quantities/net weights listed on our website. These oils are shipped to us by the distiller or manufacturer in industry-standard metal or plastic containers and that’s how we ship them to you.

Carrier oils and most other liquids are dispensed in individual HDPE plastic pails or containers with some type of handle, each container holds the purchased net weight of liquid.

Soft butters such as Horsetail and Almond are dispensed in plastic HDPE pails w/metal handles; those butters may remain inside the pails indefinitely when properly stored. Hard butters such as Cocoa are dispensed factory-wrapped in plastic and placed inside a box. Castile Gel is dispensed in a self-contained cubitainer with pouring spout.

NOTE: While the packaging methods mentioned above are generalized, we reserve the right to dispense and ship in any available container. If a customer at any time feels more comfortable transferring an essential or carrier oil to glass, this should be done.

Raw materials/ingredients are sold and dispensed by weight. Many customers ask how many ounces are in a pound, there are 16 ounces in one pound. These are not fluid ounces, they are ounces by weight.

HOW TO STORE: EOs, FOs and BUTTERS should be stored in tightly-sealed containers away from direct light and heat. Some EOs and FOs could be highly flammable, keep away from open flames and from varnished or wood surfaces. Keep all liquids and powders you purchase from Camden-Grey tightly capped and away from the reach of children, the elderly or infirm and pets. Refrigerating butters could adversely affect the consistency of a butter, please join our Forum if you need to learn how to handle, work with and store products.
