Sold by weight. Moroccan red clay is a gentle clay considered to have extreme drawing powers. It draws oils from the skin and acts as an astringent for oily hair and skin. It also stimulates skin circulation and due to its gentleness is suitable for the most sensitive skin. Recommended for acne, poison oak or ivy and skin rashes.

For dry skin, add honey or olive oil to make a paste. For oily skin, add water or coconut oil. Leave on for 15 minutes before rinsing.

Use as a natural colorant in soap: 1 teaspoon clay per lb. of soap, mix very well with a small amount of any oil in your soap recipe and add this mixture at light trace. Soap made with high amounts of this clay is best for oily skin.

INCI: Kaolinite (Moroccan red clay). Country of origin: Morocco. Shelf life: Indefinite.

I own and order for a small apothecary and Camden-Grey's Moroccan Red Clay has become a vital ingredient in my formulations! I use it to give color to my shampoo bar soaps, in face masks and as a pigment in my cosmetics! It only takes a small amount to give a rich red orange hue to formulas making it a great choice for natural colorants. As far as its action, its deeply cleansing in my hair products and leaves your face feeling fantastic. I usually mix it with kaolin or bentonite to disperse the richness of the color.

I used this to make a CP clay soap together with sea clay and zinc oxide. The contrast with the white is striking and it blends well with the green sea clay. Several of my customers have commented on how much they like this particular soap for their sensitive skin and for facial cleansing.
    Great!

I use this clay in a mix for an exfoliating, anti-acne, skin tightening mask and my customers love it! Be careful not to use too much or leave on too long because it will stain your skin/clothes/sink red. Just be sure to rinse off sink and clothes right away and I recommend not leaving on face more than 15 min.
    Makes orange-red soap!

    HOW PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED...

    BOTTLING/PACKAGING:

Essential oils: Are sold only in the quantities/net weights listed on our website. These oils are shipped to us by the distiller or manufacturer in industry-standard metal or plastic containers and that’s how we ship them to you.

Carrier oils and most other liquids are dispensed in individual HDPE plastic pails or containers with some type of handle, each container holds the purchased net weight of liquid.

Soft butters such as Horsetail and Almond are dispensed in plastic HDPE pails w/metal handles; those butters may remain inside the pails indefinitely when properly stored. Hard butters such as Cocoa are dispensed factory-wrapped in plastic and placed inside a box. Castile Gel is dispensed in a self-contained cubitainer with pouring spout.

NOTE: While the packaging methods mentioned above are generalized, we reserve the right to dispense and ship in any available container. If a customer at any time feels more comfortable transferring an essential or carrier oil to glass, this should be done.

Raw materials/ingredients are sold and dispensed by weight. Many customers ask how many ounces are in a pound, there are 16 ounces in one pound. These are not fluid ounces, they are ounces by weight.

HOW TO STORE: EOs, FOs and BUTTERS should be stored in tightly-sealed containers away from direct light and heat. Some EOs and FOs could be highly flammable, keep away from open flames and from varnished or wood surfaces. Keep all liquids and powders you purchase from Camden-Grey tightly capped and away from the reach of children, the elderly or infirm and pets. Refrigerating butters could adversely affect the consistency of a butter, please join our Forum if you need to learn how to handle, work with and store products.
