Sold by weight. Our Polysorbate 80 NF (polyoxyethylene sorbitan monooleate) is derived from RSPO palm oil. It is a non-toxic, nonionic surfactant/emulsifier and a water-soluble yellowish liquid used as a dispersing agent which allows oil and water to mix without the use of alcohol. It is a fragrance solubilizer and stabilizer; it lubricates and has a soothing effect on the skin. This skin- safe ingredient is used extensively in oil-in-water emulsions (lotions, conditioners, cream rinses, shampoos, liquid soaps, body polishes or scrubs, etc.) and also for body mists and linen sprays. Will be found as an ingredient in many body toiletries, cosmetics and wipes now in the market. This product is not food grade.  The manufacturer states it is vegan, Halal and Kosher; however, written certificates are not available.

Regarding RSPO:  Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) The palm oil used in this product is in compliance with the RSPO Supply Chain Certification Standard, version June 2017. This guarantees that the criteria for processing RSPO certified oil palm products through one or more of the supply chain models as stated in the RSPO Supply Chain Certification Systems have been met.

Polysorbates are generally used in combination with other emulsifiers such as mono- and di-glycerides or sorbitan monostearates for various purposes such as to disperse flavors and colors, to make essential oils and vitamins soluble and to improve volume and texture in baked goods. Use Polysorbate 80 when lots of foaming action is desired in a finished product.

Start with a ratio of 1:1. For example, for every ounce of essential or fragrance oil mix with one ounce of Polysorbate 80. It is extremely important to mix well, then add enough distilled water to allow you to make your blend or product. If the results are still too cloudy, you may need to increase the Polysorbate 80 to 3 parts to 1 or 4 parts to 1. Sometimes, the denser the oil the more Polysorbate 80 you will need.

This polysorbate does not contain any animal ingredients, is not tested on animals and is free of GMOs. Country of origin: U.S. INCI: Polysorbate 80.

    Great blended with Polysorbate 20

This is a little thicker than 20 but is a wonderful companion to keep essential and fragrance oil blended with water instead of sitting on top. Also the best ink/gum/take/ick remover on the market :)
    Similar to Polysorbate 20

This has the same uses as polysorbate 20, except as the product description states, it helps toiletries foam. Polysorbate 80 will remove the ink from the label on the container it comes in, so take care.

    HOW PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED...

    BOTTLING/PACKAGING:

Essential oils: Are sold only in the quantities/net weights listed on our website. These oils are shipped to us by the distiller or manufacturer in industry-standard metal or plastic containers and that’s how we ship them to you.

Carrier oils and most other liquids are dispensed in individual HDPE plastic pails or containers with some type of handle, each container holds the purchased net weight of liquid.

Soft butters such as Horsetail and Almond are dispensed in plastic HDPE pails w/metal handles; those butters may remain inside the pails indefinitely when properly stored. Hard butters such as Cocoa are dispensed factory-wrapped in plastic and placed inside a box. Castile Gel is dispensed in a self-contained cubitainer with pouring spout.

NOTE: While the packaging methods mentioned above are generalized, we reserve the right to dispense and ship in any available container. If a customer at any time feels more comfortable transferring an essential or carrier oil to glass, this should be done.

Raw materials/ingredients are sold and dispensed by weight. Many customers ask how many ounces are in a pound, there are 16 ounces in one pound. These are not fluid ounces, they are ounces by weight.

HOW TO STORE: EOs, FOs and BUTTERS should be stored in tightly-sealed containers away from direct light and heat. Some EOs and FOs could be highly flammable, keep away from open flames and from varnished or wood surfaces. Keep all liquids and powders you purchase from Camden-Grey tightly capped and away from the reach of children, the elderly or infirm and pets. Refrigerating butters could adversely affect the consistency of a butter, please join our Forum if you need to learn how to handle, work with and store products.
